So, I think I might just go with the Strobel pattern to get started. Apparently it's based on a violin made Leandro Bisiach in 1925. I don't know too much about the violin or the maker, but Strobel seems to think it's a good classic style Stradivari pattern. There's nothing too out of the ordinary about the dimensions/measurements of the violin, so it might be a good one to get started on.

I just ordered the Strad poster 'Titian' Antonio Stradivari violin, 1715". This will be my first Strad poster. There seems to be a lot of discussion about these posters, so I wanted to investigate one first hand.

I'm finally at a point where I can take some time to investigate copying the Messiah plans I have. Should be able to let everyone know the copying and mailing cost in the next few days.

Ive been scouring the interwebz for a solid plan to make my first but havent found a resource with more than a couple of dimensions on them.

I have found a place that made me three copies of the plans. They are copied at 100% (I held a copy over the original to the light and they are exact). Cost to copy was $5.75 each. (I had them put on two seperate sheets rather than front to back).

I can send a copy, folded into a flat envelope, cost of envelope and postage would be about $4.00 (the flat rate envelope is about $5 so it should come under that since its not really heavy).

The original is quite old, yellowed, and the outlines have pin marks where someone (like me) used small pin pricks to make an outline of sheet aluminum plate so I could make the mould. They are so small they really do not impact the usability of the copies, they just show up. There are NO copyright marks, nor do I know from whence they originated. I bought them from the heir of a luthier that liquidated all his fathers papers (lots of good stuff! Several other violin plans, lots of templates, etc)

You CAN order the original from the Ashmolean for 36 pounds including shipping and handling, and with their copyright, you cannot copy and share. And I'm certainly OK with that, because I'm not making any money on this offer.

I really didn't want to scan and publish .pdf or jpeg files as it would proliferate. Would prefer they stay in our community.

I can send 3 this week, and will be back at the copy shop (70 miles away) next week for an appointment in town and can make more copies then depending on the interest.
