This chart didn't originate there--I've seen it unthinkingly repeated without critical examination many places over the years. Some of the measurement are basically impossible. As I said, check them on a real violin.

"Neck height over the top edge" is given as 5.759 mm (Disputed here).
Just in case the 7mm measurement I assume is correct . Neck height refers to the Maple neck surface and not the fingerboard surface .
I only noticed the difference as I had recently worked on that .
As a teacher any chart differences would catch your eye straight away .They would be imprinted on your brain .
But for new makers the concept of collecting together your own dimensions from whatever source you found them will settle the nerves and act like a ship`s compass in the middle of the ocean .
