Hello Folks Been quiet here . I have a violin Bow I would like to
know the name it`s is hard to make out looks like L Bausch Lejpzig
I am almost sure Bausch part is ok Anyone have any idea what the name
may be for sure .it is a round I would try to post a pic if I knew how
don't seem to have any luck at posting pic Ken

You might try "googling" Ludwig Christian August Bausch, a Leipzig bowmaker in the 19th century.

According to a contributor to Wikkipedia "From the turn of the century (1900 AD) until now, thousands of cheap bows branded with the Bausch name were exported from Germany and sold throughout the world. Genuine Bausch bows, once plentiful, are now scarce and these vary from commercial grade bows to bows of exceptional beauty." - Kenway Lee 1994

Dave Thank you for the reply I have just had a look at Maestronet
forum & there is some info there on L Bausch Leipzig so from
what I can see I not likely have a one million dollar Bow. It need`s a rehair
it is very lite easy to play fast quick notes . So I will rehair it & use it
Like every thing else a person has not worth anything unless someone other than you has it & you try to buy it . I think you know the story Thanks again Ken

I think given that names are forged on so many old violins and bows, you have to evaluate its worth based on what it means to you. If you got it at a good price, and it plays well for you, then its a great bow.
