I just started rough carving some bradford pear wood from sep of 08. The wood seems hard and tough a little harder than hard maple. The grain is very clear, I find it takes extra effort to cut this wood with a knife. has anyone used this wood successfuly?? It and hawthorne is quite abundant in the midwest _________________ I am very interested in violin and bow making. Have quite a few interesting bows and a large cache of pernambuco. I like to experiment using local midwest hardwoods, |
