A friend is making a rebec for me.

Instead of carving out the body, he trying an experiment. He is building a ship-like rib pattern. He is going to laminate the ribbing with alternating strips of wood. He seemed quite excited by the whole idea.

It is going to be a soprano rebec. I will make sure to most pictures when it is finished. He estimates it will take another 3 to 4 months to finish.
