Finally, I've fitted up my first violin and tried to find the right spot for the soundpost. I started with the soundpost about 3mm behind the bridge and 1mm to the inside of the bridgefoot and moved it around in different directions.
Now it is just a little bit more (~0,5mm) towards the f-hole.
That is the best spot I could find.
The g ,d and e-strings sound good and are balanced, but the a-string is harsh and not as responsive as the other strings. Especially when playing in the third position and higher.
Is there anything I can do to improve the sound of the a-string without affecting the other strings?
Thanks, Matthias |
