Here are a few photos from the show:

This is what the room looked like with just the makers present-- we ended up having over 500 people show up each day.

This fellow (standing, below) has asked me to coach him through building his first violin. We hope to start this summer. Notice the emplty spot on the table in front of me...the five-string fiddle was out being played, again.

This is how our table looked before anyone started showing up.

Since the five-string fiddle ultimately sold, I have begun building another one just like it. I hope to have it done by mid June.

Thanks for posting these photos Chet. Great that you sold the 5 string.

Thanks, Joseph!

We'll see how it goes...I wish I could do this full time, but sales are too few and far between.

Nice pics chet ( nice violins too Smile )... thanks for posting.... keep at the shows and soon enough you will have more work than you can handle! Its nice when you get to the point of more work than you want, and then start increasing the prices to moderate the inflow of work to the level you want.
Cheers & good luck!

Hi Matt

Since we're both in Ontario, I thought I would ask if you are aware of any shows nearer to us than the west coast. I am aware of the Montreal Gutiar Show, which is for guitars only I think, and some of the arts and craft tours have an instrument maker included. Are you aware of anything similar to what Chet attended that is closer?

I am not aware of any shows, but I've heard that the major fiddle festivals like Pembroke and Shelburne, have product tables.... might be worth checking out... if you are into the fiddling scene Smile
Cheers, Mat

Thanks, Mike. It is a pretty good show, and seems to get bigger and better each year.
