The Tech Ingredients video series has some fascinating demonstrations with vibrating Chladni Plates .The video is basically about speakers but the section about Chladni plates may be of interest to luthiers .
"Fantastic speakers for less than $30 " Sixteen minutes into this video is the Chladni section you should see. Adding weights and dividing the areas into 2/3 proportions is especially interesting . He shows how Chladni patterns are something to avoid . So it`s better to know about them .
The presenter is a very hands on scientist and will show you (for example ) how to make graphene if you really need some .
