I've found that using starch boiled with water creates a nice workable gel that when you lay it over old dry glue, it softens nicely, then I simply wipe off with a damp cloth and I have clean surface. The nice thing about the gel is that you can place it precisely where you want it without water running and dripping or trying to get wet paper towels in just the exact spot.

Any issues with using a water based starch solution on surfaces to be glued?

ps... works good also on lifting & saving the small thin slivers when removing tops.

Love this idea. What kind of starch are you using and what is the ratio, starch to water?
