What is happening with MAESTRONET? It seems the domain belongs to another firm now....

Doesn't look good. Either they forgot to renew the domain name, or there was a major screw up with their ISP.

Since the new owner is a rather unknown firm, I imagine they have not sold the domain...

Good question MANFIO. I was wondering that myself, since I had decided to post a post there myself a day or two ago. (mainly I guess that I kinda wanted to see who or what would happen.)

It's become a somewhat different place there than it used to be, hasn't it? (Well, I mean, when it was still there)

Perhaps my post set off a shut down alarm?

Snickers for breakfast this morning, I guess.

Yes, the enviroment there was a bit hostile, I was posting rarely there, what was good about it was its international character.

I hope MN will come back....

Oddly enough, a long-long time ago, I believe that I was at a violin makers meeting in Albq. NM (Guild of American Luthiers?, I forget now exactly who it was, but my third wife was still alive, so it was quite a while back) where a group of professional violin people were first announcing the idea of starting Maestronet up.

That's where I first met one of the "popular makers", who then became a rather popular poster there also. I got to see some of his violins firsthand and play them.

Small world, huh? Yeah, I admit to regret it if they are gone for good also, even though I'm no longer a 'regular' poster there either.

I hope we will have some news about it. I imagine that some other player in the market would get the domain to keep the forum. So it alls looks rather strange...

The domain registration expired, but they have a few grace days. During those grace days, the domain registration company usually replaces the contents with some sort of advertizing.

cheers,

Hey, wait a minuite, was that an insinuation that I have a grande boca?

Well now.

Ok - even I'll admit that it is grande, and a boca rediculatardo, but lets at least pretend that I can control it somewhat?
