I would think if it were water based stains lightly used, it would have neglible if any affect.

Thanks for sharing, beautiful violin and doesn't seem to have hurt the sound a bit.

It will not hurt the instrument, nor affect the sound, but will definitely narrow the market for selling it.

I had a couple ask if I could make their daughter a green violin. I told them that I could do it, but that I would have to charge full price up front, as if they changed their minds, I would never be able to sell it.

They never came back.
