Amir,
Is it that Iran doesn't permit you to have the book shipped to you? Or are the websites blocked entirely?

a DVD player is the machine that plays movies, it looks like the compact disk that goes into your computer. but the DVD machine hooks up to your television to watch movies. there are many "movies" or rather instructional videos that can help to teach you to make a violin. do you have such a machine that hooks up to your television to play movies ?? Do you know if your machine that you put the movie disk into, to watch movies on your television, will the machine play movies made in the United States / Canada format. Europe uses a different format and the movies are not interchangable.
Where are you originally from, you English is quite good, especially for someone that has only lived in Iran. |

Hi Amir,
I guess I am not understanding what it is that you are looking for.
In the pdf library site that I posted the link to, there are all sorts of free downloadable pdf files which describe all sorts of aspects of violin making.
For instance: Violin making templates and forms by well known luthier Michael Darnton, Tools and basic sharpening, and Violin Making by Walter Mayson. These are all very good reading, contain a lot of information and can be downloaded onto your own computer in pdf format for viewing at a later date.
Regards....Tony |

Dear Bill, I dont have a DVD player. But I think my PC can run it.
And about language, I started to learn English when I was just 6. Its because My English Is good.
Dear Tony, that page you sent me had Some books that didnt help me. Maybe it doesnt work in Iran. Maybe that site blocked Iran's IP. |

Do you know anybody from Iran that travels to the west? Perhaps you could get them to pick up a Johnson and Courtnall Art of Violin Making book for you.
It's sad to see a government that discourages and crushes such a harmless activity. Could you make some special application to the government? Will Iran accept shipments from Afghanistan?
I have a friend here originally from Iran, Perhaps he might have some ideas. _________________ Bill |

Get someone like Sarah Palin in power and you'll be thinking about Iran as a land of freedom and opportunity.
It's amazing how often we come so dangerously close to falling back into a violent, primitive culture. _________________ "No one should be allowed to play the violin until he has mastered it."
