shell that has a golden ratio is the acoustic box of the violin.
it has thin yet strong walls, straight fibers and open structure allowing it to make sound vibrations.
i remind you that also Stradivari made the violin calculated the "golden ratio"
by fibonacci number that connect us with the chromatic scale.
i try to upload photo here but you can also have a look in my facebook.

It needs to have its own name, as it isn't a violin, nor does it sound like a violin. Its interesting however, and will need its own musical style to bring out its best. _________________ Dave in the Blue Ridge

I totally agree. Also, wouldn't you get better sound if the bridge was placed closer to the origin of the spiral? A French horn, or a tuba, doesn't have the mouth piece coming in near the open bell. _________________ Doug Wall

If you want to call this a violin, then you must certainly expect us to evaluate this instrument on violin standards, in which case, its not a step forward. If you call it something new, with application in a certain cultural mileau, or a certain style of music, you may find a way forward, and a following. _________________ Dave in the Blue Ridge

Thank you for your comments!
I built this violin by the violin measurements and also it has the same strings.
Who knows to play violin can play this violin as well, so I think that this is a violin that has Different shape and different color of sound. |
