I have some birdseye maple that would make a nice back and ribs. It's not wide enough for a full size violin. Is it acceptable to make a two piece slab cut back?

| I have tried scraping with razor blades on tests to good effect but this is difficult on the curves of an instrment.Perhaps the problem is with the varnish.Thanks J.A. |
