Sorry guys, I hadn't seen the link of the mold until now. Those photo's make sense, that is a much thinner mold than mine, which is why it had never seemed to be plausible.

Whelp,
I sure do appreciate being corrected. Now I don't have to make a breakable mold for my violins (If I build anymore) Granted, I don't know if mine is too thick.

| I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing or not. I was just saying with a one piece mold (out of a solid, single piece of plywood or such) Can't come out after you put linings in both sides ... |

| Well, wouldn't that be a break away mold? A solid inside mold can only be lined on one side is all I was pointing out. |

I suppose with location pins, it wouldn't be an issue anyhow.

With your bag of clothes pins, you might want to consider wrapping rubber bands around the ends for extra strength. Clothes pins are magical cheap clamps, but the spring doesn't quite cut it.

You have your mold still inside of the ribs when you set the neck and glue it. And while the ribs are still glued to the mold, you glue on your back and then pull the mold out once the back ... |
