Doug I'm not sure what varnish I will be using. I havn't made any progress on the project since work is getting in the way. How thin should the cleats be ?

I've used denatured alcohol it wiped the varnish right off. I would think grain alcohol like "Everclear" would work also but I have not tried that yet.

I would assume that the string height is the same for an adult as for a child. I measured my daughters 3/4 and there is 4.7mm clearance under the G and 3.8 mm under the E.
